Why We Take X-rays to Get to the Bottom of Bad Posture | Chiropractor for Posture in West Omaha, NE
Hi, I’m Dr. Joel Marley with Family First Chiropractic, and I am here to help if you’re experiencing pain between your shoulder blades! Today, I’ll be talking a little more about what we do to get to the bottom of bad posture. If you’re experiencing stiffness in motion, maybe even neck pain, difficulty breathing in or getting a full breath out you’re developing the dreaded hunch, poor posture. So I want to illustrate how we, at Family First Chiropractic, we assess the spine to find the cause of those symptoms.
How We Diagnose & Correct Bad Posture
First, during a thorough examination, we’re going to we’re going to be thinking, “what’s the root cause here?”. So maybe it’s repetitive activities that put you in bad posture and positions. These can be simple things that you do at home, work, school, recreationally even. That can be leading to weakened muscles which are causing your body to lean away from nerve irritation. Or it can be an issue with your physical structure? So we may take an x ray to see inside the body to see what’s going on. So for X rays, I want to give you an example. Joe came to us at 33 years of age, and his posture was unsightly. He was feeling it. He was noticing it. Others were even noticing it. So I examined him and his diminishing posture was quite significant. He had the hump developing and he had the hunched muscles that were tight. He was getting fatigued often, anytime he’d do work above his head, working in HVAC and construction work, he would have pain in his shoulders. So I did do a detailed digital X ray of his spine and this revealed that his spine was experiencing, at age 33, degeneration or arthritis. The bones are literally collapsing because of his poor posture. So this is how we assess the spine at Family First Chiropractic to find the root cause of your poor posture.
