Nurturing the Spine With Static Palpation | Gonstead Chiropractor in West Omaha, NE

Hello, I’m Dr. Joel Marley with Family First Chiropractic. Today, I’m here to describe one of the five objective criteria in the Gonstead chiropractic system: static palpation.

What is Static Palpation?

Static palpation involves the doctor using their hands, skin on skin, to assess the patient’s spine during each visit. This technique helps detect sudden temperature changes, dry or oily patches, texture changes, and tone changes, such as muscle spasms. These indicators can signal the presence of subluxation.

Purpose and Benefits

By feeling the spine, the doctor may identify bony protuberances or areas where the bone is sticking out. This information helps narrow the subluxation pattern, allowing for a more specific adjustment and better patient outcomes.

Family First Chiropractic

It’s different here. That is something we hear often at Family First Chiropractic, and we take pride in the fact that we are different from many chiropractic offices you may have been in. That certainly doesn’t mean we are the right fit for everyone, but here at Family First Chiropractic, we make an effort to help you know if we are the right fit for you.
